ぬるい炭酸と無口な僕


向こうは気まずいと思ってるんだろうな

とはいえ自分から話題を提供するのは苦手だ

それに僕はこういう沈黙の時間が嫌いじゃない

言葉以外で相手の情報を得る手段はいくらでもある

調子のいい言葉だけでは、

少なくとも僕には伝わらない


ぬるくて不味い炭酸を飲む


Flat Soda and a Quiet Me

She probably thinks
this silence is awkward.

But starting a conversation
has never been my strength.

Besides—
I don’t really mind
this kind of quiet.

There are plenty of ways
to understand someone
without words.

Slick talk never says much.
At least, not to me.

I take a sip
of the flat, tasteless soda.
