なんでフレンドは

“end”で終わるんだろう

ずっと考えていた

でも

さっき君に言われた

あなたとは友達でいたい

これを聞いて理解した

友達とは底なし沼なんだ

外に出ることはできない

ゆっくりと沈んでいくだけ

I used to wonder
why “friend”
ends with “end.”

It puzzled me—
until just now,
when you said,

“I want us to stay friends.”

That’s when I understood.

Friendship is a bottomless swamp—
I can’t climb out,
I just sink,
slowly.
